| April, 2009 A reminder that the new XML file (for importing to CPC's EST software) will be mandatory starting with the July DMC files - i.e. very soon. Until then, it is optional (but recommended), but will be forced by Q_MAIL at that time. Since this also requires the use of new container labels forms, don't wait until the last minute. August, 2008 Version 2.6 has just completed SERP testing for compliance with the new 2009 rules and forms. - Catalog mail will disappear (actually, be absorbed into other mail categories). - New "container" (i.e. tray and tie-on) labels will be required - now 6" wide. This is to handle bar-code imprints which will be mandatory in 2009. - A new report file is required for transmission to CPC at the time of entry into the EST system. We expect the new version to be shipped to all users with the September shipment (Oct-Nov data files). May, 2008 Q_CODE has had its SERP expiry date changed to June 30, 2009. New versions are being shipped to all users. November, 2007 CPC has made changes to Publications Mail LCP reporting requirements to begin no later than January 14, 2008. This involves statistical breakdowns of mail by Local, Regional, and National bundle destinations. NDG sorts are NOT covered by this requirement. This involves the use of a new file, which in turn requires a new version of Q_MAIL. That revised version was shipped November 2 to all users, and will be REQUIRED to be in use prior to loading the December to January Walk Files. Also, new Bulk Mail rates go into effect January 14, 2008 - so we will be issuing 2 sets of files for December to January - one for use from December 14 to January 13, and the other for use from January 14 to January 17. July 2007 Q_CODE has had its SERP expiry date changed to June 30, 2008 Nov 2006 Q_MAIL has passed testing for 2007 rules, and v2.5 is now recognized until |
